God’s sovereignty means God is supreme. It does not automatically mean God causes or controls everything that happens.
Join us for Part Two of:
What Does It Mean That God Is Sovereign?
James protects God’s character by telling us not to attribute everything to Him.
James 1:13 says:
“Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God…”
Then James 1:16–17 warns us not to be deceived about the source of God’s activity:
“Do not err, my beloved brethren. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above…”
If our definition of sovereignty makes God the source behind everything, we have created a problem James does not create.
